John 3:16 Ministries is a free, faith-based residential recovery program in Charlotte, Arkansas, for men and women 18 and over. Residents stay six to twelve months. There is no cost to enter, no cost to stay, and no insurance to file. You get in by calling 870-799-2525, completing a phone interview, and coming to a Sunday service for an in-person interview. Most people who meet the criteria are accepted the same day they interview and begin their stay that afternoon.
What it costs
Nothing.
Housing, meals, clothing, and everything else a resident needs is covered for the whole stay, and nobody is billed at the end of it. There is no insurance requirement, which means it does not matter whether you have coverage, whether you have a job, or whether you have a dollar in your pocket today.

This is a long-term residential program on a working campus. Residents live here. Days start at 6 in the morning with breakfast and Bible study, then a work assignment, then more Bible study at midday and again in the evening. Work areas include the mechanic shop, the body shop, the fabrication shop, carpentry, landscaping, the kitchen, and the media department.
This is not a hospital and it is not a clinic. We do not provide medical detox, prescribe medication, or offer clinical therapy. What we provide is a bed, a routine, work, brothers and sisters going through the same thing, and the gospel of Jesus Christ every single day.
Staff here are graduates. The people running the shops and doing the interviews went through this program themselves, which is why nobody on this campus needs the problem explained to them.
Who we can take

From your first call to your first night here
Step 1
The phone call
You call 870-799-2525. Women call 870-834-9959. The call takes about 15 minutes and it is the first interview, so expect real questions about your situation.
Step 2
Sunday
You come to the 10:00am service on campus. Women should arrive by 9:45am.
Step 3
The in-person interview
Stay in the chapel after the service. This is the second interview and the last step.
Step 4
The same day
If you meet the criteria, expect to be accepted and to begin your stay right then. Bring your packing list, because you will not be going home to get it.
The questions people are afraid to ask
What about my job?
Six to twelve months is longer than any job will hold a spot. You will work every day you are here, and you will learn a trade in one of the shops while you do it.
What about my kids?
The first month is a blackout period with no letters, no calls, and no visits. After that, approved visitors come on Sundays. Families do come.
What about my court date?
We work with local court offices and keep them informed of a resident's acceptance, progress, and completion of the program. If you have a case open, tell us on the phone interview.
Do I have to be religious already?
No. This is a Christ-centered evangelistic ministry, which means we are here to share the gospel with you whatever you believe walking in the door. You do have to be willing to believe God can heal you, and willing to sit in the Bible studies.
Can I still smoke?
Cigarettes, dip, and nicotine pouches are allowed. Vapes are not, and neither is anything that can connect to the internet.
What about withdrawal?
Copy pending. The ministry needs to confirm its detox policy before this goes live, and it is the single most-asked question in this category.

How much does John 3:16 Ministries cost?
Nothing. The program is free to every accepted resident, and always has been.
How long is the program?
Six months minimum, up to a year. Some residents stay longer.
Do you take people from out of state?
Yes. Residents have come from Alabama, California, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, Tennessee, and Texas, along with all over Arkansas.
Do I need insurance?
No. There is nothing to bill and nothing to file.
